The Barkdulls are really good friends of mine and I can’t tell you how excited I was when they came back to visit! Even though they have moved away, I love that they wanted to take family portraits while on vacation here in Kailua! It made my day to photograph their beautiful family again. I miss you all so much!
This is my favorite image of the day! Love it!
The vog cleared up just enough at the end of our session to give us a look at the striking Ko’Olau Mtns.

There are friends and then there are friends… Most of my life I’ve been the master of acquiring acquaintances. I love meeting new people. I love chit chat. Acquaintances are wonderful.
Close friends, on the other hand, were pretty scarce until my husband and I moved to Kailua Town. Since then, I’ve been blessed with so many good friends. The kind of friends that stuck it out long enough to get to know the real me. And as all good friends, we take each other through thick and thin.
I can’t tell you how much I love you girls! Happy Thanksgiving!

An anniversary is always something to celebrate. A 10-year anniversary is something to fly to Hawaii for! Barb and Steve did just that! They flew out with two of their friends and had a simple, romantic renewal of their vows on Kailua Beach.
Barb even surprised Steve with the most gorgeous handmade scrapbook documenting their love. It was beautiful to see. I loved photographing this amazing couple! Congratulations to the both of you.
